A LIVING ROOM

Living rooms are made to live not to be left – out or disregarded. Oftentimes if the room is too made – up, visitors are hesitant to lounge in this area, thus everyone ending in the porch or the dining area. Renovating your living area shouldn’t be stressful if you carefully asses all that needs to be done. When you plan to renovate take brief notes as to what is good and bad about that room in order for you to know which to remove and retain.

Do not despair if the lists of your dislikes are twice as much as your likes. Later you will see how plenty of problems need not be problems at all – or can be disguised at least. Sometimes even the most unfortunate of features can be transformed into something of character, if not beautiful!

If your living room is not getting much natural light you will need to bear in mind that when it comes to choosing your color scheme, it is usual to create as much of an impression of light in a room as possible, although if you feel you are fighting a loosing battle, you may consider emphasizing a rooms darker, more dramatic nature.

The orientation of the room will also affect the light that the room receives. A room that faces north, east or northeast will usually receive colder light than that faces south or southwest and so will need a warmer color scheme.

You also need to consider what you do in your living room and what should be incorporated into your – new look room to make it  practical as well as stylish.
