BATHROOM LAYOUT

It is difficult to advice on the size and layout of the bathroom, every homeowner has different taste and requirements. Some prefer a small bathroom other like them large and elaborate – even furnished! Depending the lifestyle of the home owner a bathroom can be just the basic type or be the extravagant type. Experience has proved however that the bathroom should have enough space to move around especially if this is a family bathroom. A small space can cause family friction during the “morning peak” remaking a bathroom and be very expensive, to avoid this, before the construction of the house, homeowners should carefully plan this area.

A small bathroom that is 2.0 x 1.5m might be claustrophobic, but it complies with the building regulation code. For an average family this can be enough but consider the future changes, if the family grows, you will need a larger bathroom.

In a small bathroom, see to it that you can house a lavatory, water closet and a shower with enough space that two people can use this at the same time, cubicle type is also best. Three can use this area all at the same time.

But for families that have the luxury to an extravagant bathroom, you can design it any way you want. The layout wouldn’t matter as long as you abide by the building regulation codes.  Considering the outside of the bathroom is also essential, the door opening shouldn’t be awkward, like if the door opens directly into a public place like the living room. Consider relocating the door to a more private space, but if this is impossible just add a simple divider to make this area discreet.
