CREATING AN ATMOSPHERE

A considerable thought should be taken before creating a new color scheme or modifying an existing one, you will be limited with a small range of possibility. A successful color scheme not only relies on a good choice of color but of the space available and the technique applied to the painting works. But the rules are unquestionably flexible. Making a selection from possible colors and textures is very much a matter of personal taste. That is why it is difficult to formulate any possible technique and guidelines to help you in your choice.

The application of colors varies from the types of textures they are applied to, the outcome also might appear be impossible to tell apart or very much diverse from the choices you have selected. Although they might appear identical on the color chart, they will undoubtedly differ in practice.

You can use dominating colors dark blues, strong reds and yellows to change or emphasize the atmosphere and character of a room. A room decorated in warm color feels warmer and more welcoming than one painted white or pale shade, although the temperature itself remains the same. Warm colors will also make a poorly lit room almost seem sunny, remember that we respond emotionally to colors. Warm colors are stimulating while lighter colors are calming and relaxing. It therefore very important to consider carefully the function of that area before you finalize your scheme. It is much better to take full precaution than later on regretting that you neglected to consider the atmosphere of your space.
