Nothing Wrong With Adults With Bunk Beds!
I am in a bit of a dilemma. As a recent graduate of NYU, I moved into a tiny studio apartment in Manhattan. With little money and even more little belongings, the studio seemed so empty with no furniture. The only furniture I had were small run down furniture from my college days and it is definitely time that I step it up and remodel this studio into a nice bachelor pad! Here is where the dilemma comes in. Like stated before, tiny studio apartment may be an understatement as to how small exactly this apartment is. With that said, I would find it miraculous if I could fit in a standard couch and bed into my 250 square feet apartment.
Now, I know there is definitely a stigma against having a bunk bed as a grown adult, but would it really be that bad? Bunk beds are normally associated with 5 to 10 year olds, but would it be completely shameful for a 24 year old male to have one? I personally find it to be a great option! As I said before, my apartment is tiny! An adult bunk bed in the form of a loft bed or a futon bed would save me a ton of space and I would be able to optimize my space very efficiently. A loft bed would able me to have a full office desk under my bed, thus saving a lot of space! Another option would be to have a futon bed which would enable me to have a bed and a couch in the same amount of space! Plus, I personally find sleek metal bunk bed to be rather appealing!
So of course if I were to buy a bunk bed based on these factors, it would be an obvious choice. Now, as a 24 year old male, it worries me that my social life will suffer from this. Afterall, bunk beds aren’t exactly known to be “chick magnets.”
Well, it is definitely time for me to do some thinking. Even though this is not really a life changing decision, it may be a very important decision that I must consider!
